Feb 14, 2010

Hi Marge, just a long awaited update on Greg and Me, We had our 2 year anniversary on Feb 9th since we met. We are doing fantastic, we have had some hard times but we keep our communication open and work our way thru it. ( thank goodness he is a patient man) This was also our 3rd Valentines day together you will never guess what he bought me...ready???? A HOUSE.... I'm so excited we are finally going to have a place of our own. Still in IL. 3 bedrooms ( so when you come to visit you can have a room) 1 bath, & the house is over 1600 SF. on 2 acres. It was built in 1860 it is so beautiful remodeled inside but still a lot of original stuff... Its more than I ever dreamed... Just like Greg... Just wanted to give you an update to post if you would like to.
Thanks again Marge and Truckercupid.com we would have never met without you...
Hugs

March 2009

Well March has been quite exciting for us. Flatbed freight has really been slow. We have stumbled over a new adventure of hauling specialty Freight. Getting started was horrible but things are calming down now and getting I better. We are rolling everyday picking up and delivering along the way. Greg and I are doing great together 24/7 in or out of the truck. the couple picture is in Turner Falls Ma. on route 2, the other one is in S.C. Greg is in hog heaven he is really enjoying himself its great to see him so happy as for me I have 3 times as much paper work to do, but we are having a good time anyways. No camping or BB Q's Lately just to busy. We both have adult kids who will graduate in May and we are looking forward to that week off.

Hey Cupid members! Try not to be so picky about your perfect mate. Sometimes the story is better than the cover. At least give someone a chance & you might be surprised. That's what Greg and I did.
Want to know a secret? If we had passed each other in a truck stop we would not have even noticed each other, but reading each others' profiles we discovered what we were looking for and we are still together over a year now. So really be honest about the type of person you want to spend time with. Not just the looks.

December 2008:
We were off most of January I moved to IL. with Greg & we have been getting settled. Since then we have been to WI. to AZ. AZ. to CA. CA. to IN. Then home for a few days, then WI. to WA. where we got to visit my uncle and aunt that I haven't seen for about 4 years. We loaded out of OR. to KS. That's where we are headed now. Who knows after that. We are doing great things, could not be better. I see Marge that you have more couples on the site and I wish them all the same happiness that Greg and I have found because of your website.......Angie

December continues....We are on our last run for UPS. Wow what a month! We were lucky we missed most of the storms either in front of or behind the weather. The last 2 loads we have been at the end of the storms. Today we are headed home where the sun is out but its very cold. This morning in Iowa even after after driving till midnight and getting to rest for 3 hours and never shutting the truck off, the truck still froze up. Greg had to get out there this morning freezing his your know what off and change fuel filters. We have seen trucks all over the place on the side of the highway frozen up. It's really different out here than (when I was) just driving local in California. The snow, fog, ice, and other elements have been a great learning experience for me. I'm very lucky Greg is a great teacher. We just stopped for lunch at Cabellas in Sidney, Nebraska good food & on the way out to the truck we had a group of ducks waiting. So I ran and got some bread, that was fun. Also after Christmas I will be moving to IL with Greg. Things are great with us!

Merry Christmas to the TruckerCupid members, Happy New Year and don't stop looking for your partner.

Sept-Nov 2008
Hi guys,
We are back in Oakland CA. and finished with our 2nd 6,000 mile trip for UPS. We will start our next one Mon at 10pm.  We were very lucky this trip as we missed the bad weather, encountered some fog and some blowing snow in Laramie WY though.  That was pretty bad, about 20 foot visibility and the hood takes up a lot of that vision. Greg drove, I looked out and said oh crap and went back to bed.  It was only minus 18 in Laramie.  Greg said trucks and cars were in the ditches. He had to follow the reflective guard stickers to make it through. He said he was glad that I did not come out 'cause I would have been scared to death and headed for the next airport to go back to sunny CA.  He is so funny.  Well we are going to bed to die and later do laundry and grocery shop.
Love to all.....Angie

September 2008 Dallas Truck Show

Just an update, we are just leaving the Dallas truck show. It was a lot of fun but not a lot of people. We passed out TruckerCupid cards and told everybody we spoke to about the website. Even gave them to married truckers to give to their single trucker friends. I hope you will get some feed back.  It was a lot of fun!  Greg and I are looking at getting a bigger sleeper since we spend so much time out here on the road. We are doing great and I was so proud to be by his side at the hospitality suite that the co. he is leased to had going. Everyone over here loves him to pieces and they seem glad that he is happy. Oh heck I'm always proud to be by his side. Well, we are off to S. Bend IN to unload Monday. Hope all is well with you and the  cupid couples. I had to send you a picture of Baby my dog that also loves Greg and if you pass the son and the dog test then he must be a KEEPER NO DOUBT!!!!

August 2008

We have been working our butts off this last month and haven't had a lot of time for much of anything, except loading and unloading and driving and doing it all over again.

Yesterday was our 6 month anniversary (since we met). We unloaded in Hebron KY and reloaded in Newport KY for Rockdale IL. for Monday delivery. Well we decided for our anniversary at least what was left of the day to find ourselves a camp ground that would let us in and just relax and enjoy each other. So we went on line and found one that would take us in. Its called Little Creek in Rensselaer In. It's just off of I 65 and exit 205. about 10 miles off the Interstate. When we pulled in they welcomed us with open arms it was really great.

We had a wonderful campsite and we BBQ-D steak and had a meal fit for a king or a happy couple. We had a great time. We even played Bingo. I had never played before and it was fun. Ya know Marge Greg and I have a great time together no matter what we are doing but camping and relaxing, well it's just the best.

I have another story to tell you. About 2 weeks ago we were in Ohio waiting to load so we found an outlet center across the street from the truck stop and went shopping. Greg and I have been looking at wedding bands for him and a new one for me cause he misplaced my original one, and the shape of my engagement ring is odd, so I thought we would never find another one. well we went into Ultra Diamonds and they had one that fit perfect I could not believe it, but I would not let him buy it cause my original might show up before we get married. So we went shopping some more. The store Greg got my wedding set from was also in this outlet center so we just stopped in to get my ring cleaned. While we were there we were looking at rings for Greg... this is no small job since he wears a 14½ ring. The sales lady almost had a fit she ran to the back room and came our smiling saying you are not going to believe this!!! In her hand was a titanium band, etched beautifully and it was Greg's size and he absolutely loved it.... So I said let's go shop some more. On the way out I told the sales lady I would be back for that ring..... Well we shopped and went to get something to eat at the food court. While we were waiting for our food, I said I want to go back to one of the other stores we had been to and I would meet him at the truck. I went and bought the ring..... The next day I could not stand it anymore and I said would you like to see what I bought? He said Yes. So I started to get it out and when he saw the bag he went and got a bag himself. I handed him his ring and he handed me mine... while I thought I was being so sneaky he was out buying the other wedding band for me at the same time!! Call it Karma or whatever but it was weird ;-)

Love Greg and Angie

July 2008

Just wanted to give you a July update. We haven't done much B-B-Q-ing this month so far just a lot of work. We have done an oversize and wow that was an experience for me. I kept looking out the mirrors thinking we were going to wipe out something but we didn't. Greg is an excellent driver and very safety conscious about his work. This was my 1st over size over 11'10" and all I can say was WOW. What an experience working with Com-data and the permit gals, that is a story in itself. I'm sure all the oversize drivers on your website can definitely relate.
Love ya, Angie

May 2008

We went from Wisconsin to Long Beach, CA. Oh yeah we did BBQ one night in mesquite but no pictures. We stayed in CA for a day and 1/2 to visit my mom and to do yard work. Mom is great and loves it when we come to town & always glad to see us. Well we ran a team load from long beach to saline MI and we are almost there. It has been a good trip just long and sometimes its hard for me to sleep with the truck moving, but I'm trying to get use to it. well that's all for now Greg is still wonderful and goes out of his way to make sure I'm ok. He says that we are a great team. chat later! Angie
